It’s felt like I’ve done a lot of reading the last couple of weeks and the two I have this week are pretty amazing!
The first is the newest by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff, Digging a Hole.
This was a great book! Another hit for this reader from Mimi Jean!
I love her ability to weave serious tones with humor, it makes for an enjoyable read and difficult to put it down. She leads you on the road to a shy woman who is doing her best to prove her worth to her family. She finds an a-hole of a man she can't help but feel drawn to. If she wasn't digging herself a good hole, Mimi Jean tosses in a twist that makes you wonder what she has planned for this book.
HE’S THE MEANEST BOSS EVER.
SHE’S THE SWEET SHY INTERN.
THEY’RE ABOUT TO WRECK EACH OTHER CRAZY.
My name is Sydney Lucas. I am smart, deathly shy, and one-hundred percent determined to make my own way in the world. Which is why I jumped at the chance to intern for Mr. Nick Brooks despite his reputation. After ten failed interviews at other companies, he was the only one offering. Plus, everyone says he knows his stuff and surely a man as stunningly handsome as him can’t be “the devil incarnate,” right? Wrong.
Oh…that man. That freakin’ man has got to go! I’ve been on the job one week, and he’s insulted my mother, wardrobe shamed me, and managed to make me cry. Twice. Underneath that stone-cold, beautiful face is the evilest human being ever.
But I’m not going to quit. Oh no. For once in my life, I’ve got to make a stand. Only every time I open my mouth, I can’t quite seem to muster the courage. Perhaps my revenge needs to come in another form: destroying him quietly.
Because I’ve got a secret. I’m not really just an intern, and Sydney Lucas isn’t my real name.

Another amazing read by Jodi Ellen Malpas! I love going into her books unsure of what is going to happen and The Controversial Princess did not disappoint. I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for the next book!
Her father is The King of England.
She is The Controversial Princess.
Regarded as down to earth by the press and rebellious by The King, Princess Adeline refuses to bow to the royal expectations her title carries. She knows better than anyone that the united front of the royal family is nothing but smoke and mirrors - lies and secrets masked by power and privilege. She wants no part of it, and she will never surrender to The King’s demand to marry a man she does not love. But despite Adeline’s determination to retain her free will, she remains deeply unfulfilled, feeling caged and suffocated.
That is until she meets Josh Jameson. Drawn in by his confidence, Adeline is soon captivated by the scandalously sexy American actor. His ability to penetrate her defences overwhelms her - his touch is pure fire, and his allure overpowering. Nothing has ever made her feel so alive in a world where she’s otherwise slowly drowning. However, while Josh may be Hollywood royalty, he’s not actual royalty, and Adeline knows The King and his advisors will do everything in their power to keep them apart.
But Josh Jameson becomes the princess’s ultimate vice.
And although she bows to no one, she bows to him.
