Welp, summer has come to an end and just like every year since becoming a mom, I feel like we didn't do enough to have fun. But we still have our weekends to adventure.
While this week marks kiddos going back to school all over the place, I'm wrapping up my second drafts for the year that took a lot longer than usual. Normally, I'm done by mid-August, I won't be done until Wednesday with this final book for 2024. I have five coming next year! Then I'm diving into rough drafts starting with the final book of 2026. Yeah, I'm that far ahead. I hope you have a great week! x Brooke

Hello Lovelies! Where has the summer gone? Seriously? I don't get where the time went. As always, I feel like I didn't get enough time with my kiddos and now school is right around the corner.
But I can keep track of time through the books I've read. I'm only showing the first book since most of what I read this month were part of a series. Now, let's get started! Misfit by Elle Kennedy Goodreads Amazon Kid by Jescie Hall Goodreads Amazon Corrupt Temptation by Melinda Terranova Goodreads Amazon Ruthless Savages by Steph Macca Goodreads Amazon The Midsummer Bride by Kati Wilde Goodreads Amazon The Order by Angel Lawson Goodreads Amazon Mafia Captive by Julia Sykes Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble Pretty Dark Vows by Callie Rose Goodreads Amazon As always, I hope you find something to capture your attention. Happy Reading! x Brooke Cody was great! I met some new authors, so some old friends, and met lots of new readers! It was a long day that ended with my husband and I spending more time on the side of the road calling elk and watching moose on our way back to the rest of the family.
As much as I wanted to go fishing, my oldest decided to have an upset stomach that brough us home early. That's okay, I plan on fishing this coming weekend. This week, has me wrapping up my final book for 2024 and then diving into outlines for the books I plan on writing this coming fall when school starts up once more. I hope you have a great week! x Brooke We're on the final countdown to Cody signing this coming Saturday! I'm so excited to be attending a signing in my home state! This will be my third different signing since I'm still limited to where I can go, but I do attend craft shows as well.
I'm entering the homestretch with my second drafts for 2024 releases. I'm working on the last book of next year starting today! I don't have much else to share with you. I hope you have a great one! x Brooke One minute it's Fourth of July then Rodeo here and now we're gearing up for fair that always kicks off August. This year feels like it has gone by at lightspeed and no thanks to all the rain (I am grateful for) in June, some of our summer was stolen right out from under us.
Now the heat is here and I'm praying for more time on the mountain where I can fish and unfortunately be eaten alive by bugs. I'm hard at work doing re-writes for my 2024 books with less than two left to get through before I can start plotting out the books I'll write this coming fall, winter, and spring. I'm also busy getting ready for a signing in Cody, Wyoming next weekend (August 12th) with a bunch of other romance authors from Montana, Wyoming, and I believe Idaho. If you're around that area please come check it out! I'll add the picture at the bottom of this post. I don't have much else to share. As always, have a great one! x Brooke It's that time of the month again!
Here are the books I read, remember I combine into series. Havoc by C.M. Stunich Goodreads Amazon The Ritual by Shantel Tessier Goodreads Amazon Ruin Me by Nora Cobb Goodreads Amazon Lovely Bad Things by Trisha Wolfe Goodreads Amazon Hillcrest University by Candace Wondrak Goodreads Amazon Babymoon or Bust by Ava Hunter Goodreads Amazon Goddess Isles by Pepper Winters Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble Zodiac Wolves by Elizabeth Briggs Goodreads Amazon And that's a wrap. As always, I hope you find something to read. x Brooke You're probably like, yeah? So what?
It's pretty much a holiday week here, one I used to thrive in but now avoid like the plague. The rodeo here inspired my My Cowboy books and I'll always have a love of rodeo but the sports, not just the sense of going like so many do here anymore. This week, I'm working away on Whiskey Throttle and hopefully getting edits soon to wrap up Regaining Integrity for publishing. I don't have much else to share this week. Have a great one! x Brooke June was rained out and now it's time to make up for it. I'm hoping to get as much mountain time as I possibly can for the next few months before we are in the grips of winter again.
Between dog sitting this week and getting my kid delivered to his mowing jobs, I'm plenty busy on top of my writing. This week, I'm starting the second draft of Whiskey Throttle which will be the final Moto X book! I felt Parker's story needed to be last. Kind of a way to come full circle with the series. I already have an image selected for his cover too! I don't have a lot to share for the week. As always, I hope you have a great one and if you're in the US, have a happy Fourth of July! x Brooke What a month! June in Wyoming saw us pretty wet all month long and on the last day, we're finally coming out of it for the most part. As I was putting this list together, I honestly didn't think I read a lot but it looks like I did.
If you are new to this blog post, on the last Friday of every month I share all the books I read. It's a small way to give back to other authors by helping readers find possible new-to-them authors. A lot of these are to me. Below, you will find the title of the book, the author, and links to Goodreads and wherever you can purchase the book. I always hope someone is able to find something on my life. I honestly have no clue who even reads this because there are never comments, but that's okay. Two Sticky Nuts by Mimi Jean Pamfiloff Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble Drunk on You by Harper Sloan Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble Lady of Forsyth by Samantha Rue and Angel Lawson Goodreads Amazon The Long Way Home by Harper Sloan Goodreads Amazon Queen of Snow by Laura Burton and Jessie Cal Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble Wolf Shunned by Laurel Night Goodreads Amazon Fear the Reapers by Jessa Halliwell Goodreads Amazon Defiant by Ann Denton Goodreads Amazon Just Drop Out by J. Bree Goodreads Amazon Boys of Bellerose by Jaymin Eve and Tate James Goodreads Amazon Chasing Ember by Mandi Knoesni Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble Defying Pack Law by Eve Langlais Goodreads Amazon Twisted Love by Ana Huang Goodreads Amazon Barnes and Noble And that's all of them! All vary in heat and different sub-genres of romance. As I stated above, I hope you find something. Happy Reading! x Brooke Aside from working, it doesn't feel like I got to do much of anything this month. June in Wyoming saw a lot of rain which is good for fire restrictions, but not so good for going exploring. A lot of forest service roads have been closed due to the amount of rain the mountains have been getting, keeping this girl from going off into the woods.
For the most part. This week will see me wrapping up my second book for 2024. It's called The Mating Chance, it is a Long Claw book but I'm part of a LumberCAT series with 11 great authors. All of us will be releasing our books one month at a time. I'm one of the last. Then I'll be starting next week by diving into Whiskey Throttle, the last Moto X book. I'll be back Friday with "What Brooke Read" June edition. As always, have a wonderful week. x Brooke |
